Set within Tampa’s historic Ybor City neighborhood, Gasworx is a mixed-use development that reimagines an industrial district as a connected urban destination. Serving as the Architect of Record, Smallwood partnered with S9 Architecture to deliver the project, which combines multifamily residential, office, retail, and marketplace uses across multiple parcels. The development includes two residential buildings totaling 497 units, a new six-story office building, the adaptive reuse of an existing structure, and an active ground-floor retail environment that strengthens the pedestrian experience.
Respecting the character of the surrounding historic context, the development extends the existing urban fabric while introducing new opportunities to live, work, shop, and gather. An extensive amenity program featuring rooftop terraces, an outdoor pool, landscaped gathering spaces, coworking environments, and wellness-focused amenities creates a vibrant community that balances contemporary living with the enduring character of Ybor City.
