FIABCI, Malaysian Chapter, 2001
This 25-story, 60,000 SM office tower is located at the north corner of Jalan Damanlela and the proposed Jalan Damansara Extension in the planned Damansara City mixed-use development in the Damansara suburb of the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
The project consists of an aesthetic redesign of the exterior façades (including roof treatment) of the office tower with an attached four-story commercial podium, previously designed by others.
As this is an office tower in downtown Kuala Lumpur, the design fashions the Manhattan look but not forgetting its local context and characteristics with a postmodernism treatment. The roof design features a dome-like structure that expresses the local Malaysian flavors.
