The John A. Williams Theatre at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is a world-class, state-of-the-art performing arts venue. It is the home for the Atlanta Opera, Atlanta Ballet, and hosts touring companies and other varied performances. The theater was designed to provide guests with an intimate, exciting, and elegant venue for all types of performances.
The multipurpose theatre has a capacity of 2,750 comprising orchestra, mezzanine, and grand tier seating. It also has a 10,000 SF ballroom adaptable for a variety of special events. The three-story, grand lobby entrance links the two spaces. Structured parking is provided for 700 cars with direct access to the venue.
Guests enter the building through a gracious progression of landscaped terraces and courtyards, which create an environment with areas for outdoor functions and events. The dynamic, sweeping form of the entry façade is highlighted by a 65’ floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall that offers the arriving guest views of the elegant main lobby and auditorium entrance.
The dramatic three-story lobby combines grand spaces with luxurious materials and delicate detailing to create a vibrant and exciting environment. Two grand staircases finished with subtle woodwork, alabaster, and glass move guests gracefully from the main entry level to the upper lobby mezzanine and balconies. Colorful sculptured glass chandeliers, walls of Venetian plaster, and elegant wood offer guests inviting places to gather prior to performances and during intermissions.
