The Leela Palace Chennai

Located in a 6.25-acre mixed-use development near Adyar Beach facing the Bay of Bengal, this 15-story, 354-key, 614,000 SF luxury hotel is themed around the architecture of the nearby Chettinad House and historic Chettinad Palaces of Tamil Nadu. It features 28,000 SF of banquet and meeting facilities, including a 15,000 SF ballroom and rooftop function terrace, traditional landscaped courtyard, seven restaurants and bars (including an exclusive rooftop venue overlooking the Bay of Bengal), a 14,370 SF health club and spa, and an 11,600 SF boutique retail plaza.

The design of the hotel evokes the Chettiar Heritage of Tamil Nadu – Chettinad, with its fortress-like mansions and palaces filled with riches that the merchant community brought home from lands far away. The architecture reflects the influence these world travelers brought back from their adventures as well as the mingling of their own rich culture.

The 326 guestrooms include two distinctly different arrangements. The rooms facing the sea include baths along the exterior wall with windows allowing one to take a luxurious bath with a secluded sea view, while the rooms facing the city have the baths internal to the room for privacy with the focus on a sitting area that enjoys the panoramic views.

With a separate entrance from the hotel, the Banquet Hall/Grand Ballroom provides meeting space for guests and visitors.
