Distinctive Classicism

The 750,000 SF Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta consolidated the Sixth Federal Reserve District’s regional headquarters and the Bank’s Atlanta administrative and check processing operations into one building in Midtown Atlanta. Robert A.M. Stern Architects was a consultant to our firm for the site planning, landscape design, building architectural design, and public space interior design.

The building design meets the bank’s diverse functional needs by effectively integrating office, operations, public education, support, conference, and training spaces.

The building is composed of simple yet distinctive classical elements recalling the bank’s current and past buildings in Atlanta and referring to the clean classicism of Paul Cret’s 1936 Federal Reserve Bank building in Washington, D.C.

Our relationship with this client has extended beyond the original headquarters building, with Smallwood providing ongoing task-order services as part of a master service agreement with the Bank. The projects we have completed under this agreement include both interior and exterior renovation projects, security upgrades, and equipment coordination.

Smallwood also provided Landscape Design and public space Interior Design for this project.
